Do you have a handy soap dispenser built into your kitchen or bathroom sink? I found a way to stop refilling the messy inconvenient soap bottle that comes with it. Save time and frustration by installing an extender. Let me explain.

The Problem with Common Soap Dispensers

The dreaded time comes when you pump, pump, and pump your kitchen soap dispenser but nothing comes out. It happens far too often. The soap bottle has run dry. You have two choices, crawl under the sink, maneuver around drainpipes, and unscrew the soap bottle while dodging dripping residue. Or you can attempt to refill your soap pump using the ridiculously small bottle opening. Grab a lot of paper towels. A slow-moving tide of soap will inevitably spread onto your countertop threatening to drip on your floor.

A Better Way to Refill Your Soap Dispenser

Alas, there is a better way. Thanks to my friend Molly from Empty Hammock, we discovered the magic soap dispenser extender. O.k. it may not hold special powers, but it keeps me from refilling the soap bottle for months at a time. Sound good? Keep reading.

The Soap Dispenser Extender I Used

There are several soap dispenser extenders available, but this is the one I ordered from Amazon. This is not sponsored, and I don’t get any commission for telling you about it. It just happens to be the one I installed and love. I love it so much, that I installed one for my mom. She is very thankful not to deal with so many refills now.

How to Use the Soap Dispenser Extender

For less than $13 (at the time of this post) you get everything you need. Use your existing pump and unscrew the little soap bottle one last time. Next, you screw on a silicone hose that leads to whatever bottle of liquid dish soap you like. I use the most ginormous bottle of cheap soap I can find. The detergent bottle sits in the very back of my under-sink cabinet out of the way. The kit comes with a handy dandy cap and plugs to keep the hose from coming loose.

Is the Soap Dispenser Extension Worth It?

There aren’t a lot of inexpensive gadgets and gizmos that I am willing to pay for. This one is a major exception. I HIGHLY recommend everyone install this awesome soap pump extension. It is fast and easy to add to your pump and saves so much time and mess.
